SBC Media has confirmed two senior appointments to its editorial structure, promoting Martyn Elliott to the newly filled role of Managing Editor and rehiring Luke Massey as Media Director, according to SBC News.

Elliott takes on responsibility for editorial strategy across SBC Media's portfolio, with a team of editors reporting into him. That group includes Ted Menmuir as Editor-at-Large, Ted Orme-Claye across SBC News and Lottery Daily, Joe Streeter covering iGaming and SlotBeats, Lucia Gando at SBC Noticias, Leonardo Biazzi at SBC Notícias Brasil, Jyoti Rambhai at Affiliate Leaders and Rachael Kennedy as Payment Expert.

SBC Managing Director Andrew McCarron said Elliott's experience and understanding of the media portfolio made him "ideally suited to lead our editorial strategy", adding that Elliott had "played a key role in shaping SBC Media".

Elliott said he was looking forward to working with SBC Media's editors and journalists to build on the organisation's reputation, stating that "the value of experienced journalists, genuine insight and quality reporting has never been greater" as content volumes continue to grow.

Massey rejoins SBC Media after more than four and a half years away, most recently as Senior Editor at The Sporting News and before that spending close to four years as Content Manager at FairPlay Sports Media's Oddschecker property.

He takes over the Media Director role previously held by Elliott, overseeing a commercial editorial team made up of Senior Media Manager Craig Davies, Key Media Account Manager Charlie Horner, and Media Managers James Ross and Fernando Noodt.

Massey will also play a role in SBC Insights, the company's research and intelligence division, taking charge of SBC Media's webinar and digital conference output and contributing to the content calendar. He will additionally manage SBC Insights' research and report work, which produces bespoke research, whitepapers and premium reports for clients.

McCarron said Massey's background across industry publishing and his familiarity with the SBC portfolio made him "an excellent fit for the Media Director role", while SBC Media Commercial Director John Cook said the pairing of Elliott's promotion with Massey's return gave the company "a strong foundation to develop our commercial offering".

Massey said the move gave him the chance to help develop products across client content, digital events and research that deliver value to partners while providing content that is "informed, relevant and worth engaging with".

Both Elliott and Massey are due to represent SBC Media at industry events through 2027, including SBC Summit Europe, SBC Summit, and ICE in Barcelona at the start of the year.
