Editorial standards
Accuracy
Every fact in a news article comes from a named source, and claims made by a company about itself are attributed to that company. Figures, fines, licence conditions and dates are reported as the source gives them. Anything unconfirmed is labelled as unconfirmed.
Neutrality
We report on operators, regulators and campaigners in the same register. We do not describe gambling as a way to make money, we do not trivialise gambling harm, and we do not publish predictions, tips or recommended bets.
Commercial links and Betportal
Verte News carries no display advertising and no bonus banners. It does have a commercial relationship with Betportal, an online casino and sportsbook. A small number of our explainers carry a clearly labelled link to Betportal, and only where a reader of that explainer could reasonably want to see an operator's product.
- Commercial links are marked as such on the page and carry the
sponsoredlink attribute, so search engines treat them as the paid links they are. - They never appear in news reporting, in our navigation, or on any article about self-exclusion, problem gambling or player protection.
- They do not decide what we cover or what we say. Every article on this site is written to be useful on its own, and would read the same with the link removed.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct the article and, where the error was material, say what changed.
