SBC Summit Europe to focus on regulated markets at RAI Amsterdam
SBC has detailed plans for its new European conference, which will gather operators, regulators and policymakers in Amsterdam from 19–21 April 2027.

SBC has set out further details of SBC Summit Europe, confirming the event will run at RAI Amsterdam from 19 to 21 April 2027, according to SBC News.
The event was first announced in February this year. SBC says it expects more than 3,000 attendees from operators licensed in European markets, alongside an expanded push to draw in gaming regulators from across the continent.
SBC CEO and founder Rasmus Sojmark said Europe should not be thought of as a single gambling market but as a patchwork of regulated jurisdictions, each at its own stage of development and wrestling with distinct questions on taxation, advertising, player protection, shifting consumer habits, artificial intelligence and technology.
Sojmark said the goal was to put operators and their regulators in the same room, alongside national brands, trade associations and policymakers, rather than keeping those conversations separate.
SBC is pursuing a target of more than 3,000 operator representatives, with particular focus on drawing participation from licensed businesses in Europe's largest regulated jurisdictions.
The summit will also draw on SBC's existing partnership with the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the International Masters of Gaming Law, alongside relationships with other regulatory bodies and trade associations, to bring gaming authorities from across Europe into direct contact with the operators they oversee.
Sojmark argued that regulatory divergence has become one of the central challenges facing the European industry, pointing to a split between jurisdictions achieving strong channelisation into licensed markets and others struggling against unlicensed offshore competition.
He said the event was intended to let markets learn from each other's experience, asking which regulatory approaches are working, how player protection can be balanced against a competitive licensed sector, and how regulators and operators can cooperate to keep consumers within regulated channels.
According to SBC News, the conference programme will cover channelisation, taxation, advertising limits, player protection, affordability, black-market competition, licensing and compliance, as well as the effect of emerging technology, with sessions dedicated to individual national markets.
Regulators attending will also have dedicated opportunities to compare approaches with counterparts from other countries, while operators will be able to track how regulatory thinking is evolving in markets beyond their own.
The agenda will additionally address the commercial and technological pressures shaping the next phase of regulated gaming in Europe, spanning compliance technology, payments, sports betting platforms, data, casino products, marketing and changing player behaviour, supported by an exhibition hall for suppliers and a broad networking schedule.
SBC managing director Andrew McCarron said the ambition was to build an annual meeting point that reflects the industry as it actually operates today, prioritising regulated markets, bringing together leading licensed operators from across Europe, and ensuring regulators take part in the discussion rather than being talked about from the sidelines.
McCarron said that if SBC succeeds in bringing operators, regulators and the wider industry together in this way, the Amsterdam event could become a fixed and significant date on the European gaming calendar.
Operators, regulators, suppliers and qualifying affiliates can apply for complimentary passes to attend, with registration details available through SBC Summit Europe's own channels.
