Rio Las Vegas Launches $500,000 Home Giveaway With Lennar

The off-Strip casino's new promotion offers a Las Vegas Valley house or a six-figure free-play alternative, following a similar Laughlin giveaway earlier this year.

Rio Las Vegas has introduced a promotion offering players the chance to win an actual house rather than simply beat one, according to Casino.org News.

The "Giving Away the House" campaign, unveiled on Thursday, is built around a Lennar home that was recently constructed in the Las Vegas Valley and is worth roughly $400,000. The overall prize pool for the promotion totals $500,000.

The giveaway runs from 1 November through eight preliminary drawings before a grand-prize finale. Five winners at each preliminary drawing will walk away with $1,000 apiece in free play, with sessions scheduled between 14 November and 20 February, held at 6pm inside the resort's Lapa Lounge.

The finale takes place at 6pm on 6 March at the Rio Event Stage, where the top prize will be either the home itself or a $150,000 free-play alternative. Four further finalists will take home free play worth $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.

Rio president Rod Turlan framed the campaign as a milestone for the property. "This is more than a giveaway. It's a chance to transform someone's future," he said in the announcement reported by Casino.org News.

Entry requires participants to be at least 21 years old, hold a Rio Rewards account and present valid identification. Rewards members receive an initial entry automatically, but must also activate it at a promotional kiosk between 3am and 5:45pm on each drawing day to qualify for that evening's draw.

Rio is running the promotion in partnership with homebuilder Lennar, and the property describes it as the largest giveaway in its history.

Casino.org News noted that while prize drawings for cars, cash and free play are common across the industry, giving away a physical home remains unusual, and the outlet said it could not identify an earlier Las Vegas precedent.

A comparable promotion did run in Laughlin in March 2026, when Golden Entertainment's Aquarius and Edgewater properties offered a "$300,000 House & $60,000 Cash Giveaway." The grand prize there was a newly built home measuring 1,619 square feet in Bullhead City, Arizona, with a cash alternative of $210,000.

The Laughlin winner, identified only as Steven M. of Bullhead City, chose the cash option over the property itself.
