The US prediction market now offers five-minute up/down contracts on Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and XRP, following settlement changes made earlier this year.

Polymarket US has introduced five-minute event contracts on Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and XRP, extending its fastest trading window to the domestic platform for the first time, according to Casino.org News.

The contracts follow the same yes/no, up/down structure used across Polymarket's existing crypto markets and are resolved automatically using price data supplied by Chainlink.

Bitcoin and Ether are the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, while XRP and Solana rank fifth and seventh, Casino.org News reported.

The launch comes roughly three months after Polymarket revised how timed cryptocurrency derivatives are settled, moving from a single price snapshot to a time-weighted average price, or TWAP, methodology.

That change addressed a flaw in the earlier system, under which Polymarket's international platform had allowed five-minute crypto contract results to flip in the moments just before expiry, Casino.org News reported.

Polymarket's international arm began offering five-minute crypto markets in February and generated roughly $4 billion in volume on them over the following six months, per the outlet.

With the US addition, Polymarket US now runs yes/no digital currency derivatives across five-minute, 15-minute, hourly, daily, weekly and monthly intervals.

At the time of the Casino.org News report, the platform was listing 18 active markets on Bitcoin and ten each on Ether, Solana and XRP.

Casino.org News noted that turnover in crypto event contracts across prediction markets rose 44-fold in the first seven months of 2026, a trend it said made the US rollout a logical move for Polymarket.

The outlet also pointed to a possible catalyst: if cryptocurrency prices recover from a largely disappointing 2026, renewed bullish sentiment could further boost demand for short-dated crypto trading on prediction platforms.

Polymarket's background as a crypto-native exchange gives it an edge as rival prediction market operators move into the same space, with industry observers identifying cryptocurrency contracts as one of the sector's strongest growth areas outside sports, Casino.org News reported.

Data cited by the outlet also indicate that a large share of Polymarket's users are new to cryptocurrency altogether, suggesting the platform's event contracts could serve as an entry point into the asset class for first-time traders.

Casino.org News reported that critics take a different view, arguing that pairing cryptocurrency with event contracts amounts to gambling in disguise and risks drawing inexperienced traders into high-frequency speculation.

No details on further product expansions were disclosed alongside the launch.
