SBC locks in Lisbon as SBC Summit venue through 2030
SBC has signed a multi-year deal with Portuguese and Lisbon city authorities extending its flagship Summit's home through 2030, building on an event that drew visitors from 178 countries this year.

SBC has reached a long-term agreement that keeps its flagship Summit event in Lisbon for a further four editions, running through 2030.
The deal was struck with Turismo de Portugal, the Municipality of Lisbon and Lisboa FCE, the non-profit body responsible for managing the city's major exhibition and congress venues.
It builds on a 2027 edition that was already locked in, and now adds confirmed dates and backing for 2028, 2029 and 2030, according to SBC Americas.
The Summit will continue to run across Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the MEO Arena, the twin-venue setup SBC says gives it the space needed for its exhibition halls, conference programme, networking activity and evening entertainment.
SBC founder and chief executive Rasmus Sojmark said the agreement formalised the company's attachment to the city, giving SBC, its attendees and its partners certainty to plan and invest ahead of time.
He added that knowing the Summit's location and duration in advance would let the company focus its resources on making the event bigger and more valuable for everyone attending.
Sojmark also thanked Lisbon for backing the show, saying the city had proved itself a strong fit for the event over the years it has been held there.
The contract was signed on the closing day of this year's Summit, with officials including Gonçalo Reis, vice president of the City of Lisbon, and Maria Luísa Aldim, the city's deputy mayor for Innovation and Social Development, in attendance.
FIL was represented by executive board president António Ramalho and board member Carlos Oliveira, while Turismo de Portugal sent board member Teresa Monteiro.
Ramalho said his organisation was committed to supporting SBC's growth plans in Lisbon, arguing that hosting events of this scale helps position Parque das Nações and FIL among the world's leading venues for international gatherings.
SBC Summit has been held in Lisbon since 2024 and has expanded each year it has returned, according to SBC Americas.
This year's edition attracted attendees travelling from 178 countries and generated roughly 85,000 hotel room bookings across the city, though SBC said final attendance numbers were still being verified.
The 2026 programme featured a high-profile Leadership in Sports Business panel bringing together Michael Jordan, Sportradar founder and chief executive Carsten Koerl, and DraftKings co-founder, chairman and chief executive Jason Robins, moderated by broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher.
Organisers also launched several new strands this year, including a standalone Affiliate Leaders Summit for the affiliate and performance marketing sector, a Global Prediction Markets Forum and an African Gaming Forum.
A newly introduced structured networking programme ran alongside keynote appearances from football transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano and UFC champion Charles Oliveira.
The 2026 Summit closed with the INFINITY Lisbon party, headlined by DJ Tiësto.
SBC confirmed the event will return to Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the MEO Arena from September 21 to 23, 2027.
