High Roller Technologies has named Flip Pidot as chief business officer, according to EGR, filling a newly created post at the prediction market operator.

Pidot joins High Roller shortly after concluding a stint as chief strategy officer at PredictIt, the political-only prediction market founded by John Aristotle Phillips in 2014 alongside Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He had earlier worked as a market curator for PredictIt between 2014 and 2019.

Unlike rivals such as Kalshi and Polymarket, which list contracts across sport and crypto prices as well as politics, PredictIt has remained focused solely on political event contracts.

At High Roller, Pidot will oversee what the company describes as strategic partnerships for its forthcoming ROLR prediction markets brand and will be tasked with identifying expansion opportunities.

He is also chief executive and co-founder of the American Civics Exchange and previously founded Sharp Square Capital.

High Roller built its early business around VIP consumers through its eponymous brand and the Fruta product, before pivoting toward prediction markets. A beta version of the ROLR platform went live in September, supported by a partnership with Crypto.com.

An email sent to consumers last week suggested ROLR would launch in the week commencing 12 October, but High Roller subsequently clarified that no firm launch date had been set, saying only that it hoped to go live sometime in October.

The hire follows the appointment of Thomas Scaria as chief product officer in August, another newly created executive position at the firm.

High Roller went public in October 2024, and its stock has risen sharply this year since the company signalled its move into prediction markets.

Pidot said prediction markets had reached a stage where customer experience and the strength of commercial relationships would determine which businesses succeed, adding that High Roller had "assembled an experienced team and a strong foundation for ROLR." He said he was looking forward to "helping connect that platform with partners and participants, broaden its reach and build lasting value for the company."

High Roller chief executive Seth Young said Pidot "understands what attracts participants, how well-designed markets work and what commercial partners need to succeed," adding that this experience would be valuable as the company works to expand partnerships and build toward sustained growth.
