AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) has created a new product department as part of a broader restructuring of the Swedish totalisator operator, with the stated aim of revitalising its online betting platform and wagering services.

The change took effect on 1 October 2026 under acting Chief Executive Jörgen Forsberg, and forms part of a wider reshaping of ATG's operating units covering product development, commercial operations and IT, according to SBC News.

Jesper Komstadius, previously Head of Product, has been promoted to Chief Product Officer and now sits on ATG's management team, leading the new department. He has previously worked as Nordic Marketing Manager at Samsung.

Lotta Nilsson, ATG's Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, said the clearer division of responsibility would allow the company to set priorities and direct its development resources where they have the greatest impact. She added that customers should ultimately notice the difference through improved gaming experiences.

The restructuring follows ATG's plan to relaunch its Saturday racing pool as an updated V75 on 28 November, replacing the existing V85 product.

Svensk Travsport is separately reviewing the Saturday racing programme with the aim of producing more evenly matched and competitive races, part of a broader push to improve the betting experience for customers.

ATG's commercial division, led by Chief Commercial Officer Katarina Widman, is also being reorganised so that horse betting, sports betting and casino operate with more tightly integrated responsibility for their respective offers, marketing and sales.

IT has been given a clearer mandate under the changes, covering stable and secure operations, cybersecurity, platforms and data. Therese Haeggblom Widmark has been appointed Chief Information Officer and joins the management team, having acted in the role while leading ATG's IT development work.

Her appointment comes as Daniel Santikos prepares to leave the company this autumn. Nilsson said both Komstadius and Haeggblom Widmark bring broad experience of ATG's operations that would support continued development across the management team and the wider business.

ATG is owned by Sweden's trotting and galloping sports bodies, Svensk Travsport and Svensk Galopp, and posted group revenue of SEK 6bn in 2025. Around SEK 2.3bn of surplus funds were returned to the two owner organisations last year, under the operator's model of channelling proceeds back into Swedish racing.
